I am a fulltime mixed media artist who usually creates collage art for the wall, but at times I meander into papermaking, bookbinding, woodcut printing, or photography. Most of my artwork is abstract and is inspired by observations of the world around me --- sometimes environmental, sometimes political, sometimes personal --- but always created from my own perspective. Each piece is created with multiple layers of cloth and/or paper that I have dyed and painted, along with more printing on the surface. The final layer is usually stitching and a bit of text to enhance the essence of the piece. My work serves as a visual journal of my life, and each layer adds another dimension to be discovered, understood, and appreciated.
